This page provides basic descriptions for the classes we offer year round. Please check the schedule page to see when these classes are offered and to sign up! If you are unsure of where to start check out our studio policies and FAQ section.
We have developed programs specifically for each age group to offer safe, effective, high quality instruction. Our students are family and we are there to support them as they grow physically and emotionally.
We don’t just teach circus, we teach life skills through circus. Youth and teen classes have an emphasis on socialization, teamwork, confidence building, discipline, and strength. All while having a great time and learning new skills. We progress students slowly and safely on the ground and in the air to build a strong, solid foundation for acrobatic and aerial training.
Youth and Teen classes follow a school year curriculum schedule that is billed monthly with optional Summer offerings. We teach a progressive curriculum where each week builds upon the last. A gymnastics or dance background is helpful but not required to begin classes. Class sizes are kept small which allows instructors to work with students at their own level. Progress reports and our Facebook Parents group will help you keep track of your childs progress. Youth and Teen students will have the option to perform in a showcase every spring. We look forward to sharing our love of movement with your Family!
We are excited to offer a youth aerials summer camp this year at our studio during the week of July 24, 2023 – July 28, 2023. The camp is open to youth and teen participants ages 8-17. No prior experience is needed to attend our aerial summer camp. Both new students and existing students are welcome and will be challenged appropriately. Participants will be grouped by age and experience level within the camp.
All new students between the ages of 8-12 begin in Youth Acro and Aerial. We place students from here.
Youth Sling is specifically designed for kids ages 8-12. This class explores foundations in the air and on the ground. Students will begin main instruction on aerial sling while working on conditioning and flexibility. Some straight silks and aerial bar work may also be explored. Youth classes incorporate games for conditioning, skills, and theory to keep the kids engaged. Class runs 60 minutes and includes warm up, conditioning, flexibility, and cool down alongside skills training.
Students may sign up for one class a week or both depending on how often they would like to train. This is a mixed level class. Class sizes are limited to a small class size which allows us to meet all students at their level. The students enrolled must be accompanied by a parent or Legal guardian on the first day of class to sign the waiver for them.
Teen Class offerings are separated by apparatus. These classes are designed specifically for students ages 13-17 who are ready for a more mature and structured class. Having a dance or gymnastics background is helpful but not required to begin classes. Classes are mixed level and are limited to small class sizes which allow us meet each student at their level.
Aerial fabric is a Silk Fabric suspended in the air with two tails. New students will work on learning to climb, footlock skills, and basic inversions while building strength and flexibility. Intermediary students will begin learning sequencing and body wraps. High level students will move onto more dynamic movements and drops.
This class includes instruction on Static Trapeze, a metal bar suspended by two ropes. Static Trapeze does not swing or spin. New students will learn how to execute skills below, on, and above the bar. Intermediate students will begin exploring going up into the ropes and building sequences. Higher level students will work on dynamic skills and drops.
This class focuses on instruction in aerial hoop. Aerial Hoop is a metal Circle suspended in the air on a single point. New students will begin working in and under the circle. Intermediate students will start working on top of the hoop to expand their vocabulary. Advanced students will begin working on more dynamic movements and drops.
This class includes instruction on Aerial Sling. Aerial Sling is a silk fabric suspended in the air and rigged into a loop at the bottom. This is a very beginner friendly apparatus because the loop helps support the students weight during skill training. Our sling can also be adjusted in height making them very accessible to teens who are newer to movement training. Newer students will work in the loop and learn supported wraps, poses and skills. Intermediate students will begin to explore skills within the fabric poles and droplets and spinning. Advanced students will learn more dynamic movements and drops.
Classes are mixed level and instructors will give adaptations to fit each students needs. Acro flow is a class that focuses on teaching ground acrobatics in a specific way that allows acrobatic tricks to fuse seamlessly into other movement arts. The first part of class works on acrobatic foundations such as handstands, cartwheels, rolls, limbering, bridges, and splits. The class then focuses on ground movement theory and flow, fusing basic dance principles into the skills we develop from acrobatic movement training.Students develop flexibility and strength while focusing on their lines and poses.
Acro flow can be taken alone but is also a great class to supplement aerial training as it builds a balanced body by utilizing the pushing muscles to develop along with the pulling muscles needed for aerial work. This class will also drastically improve flexibility, strength, and the students ability to create pleasing shapes and lines in the air.
